Veep director to helm Nasty Women starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson

Ah, there's nothing like a good old fashioned gender-swapped comedy to make you feel like it's 2017 all over. Today, it's been announced that VEEP director Chris Addison will work his particular brand of behind-the-camera magic for the planned re-imagining of the 1988 Steve Martin and Michael Caine comedy DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS which has been groaningly titled NASTY WOMEN.

With Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson set to star in the film, the plot will center around two women from different walks of life teaming up to con a tech prodigy out of his money. Jac Schaeffer will write the script, and now that Addison has been attached, the making of this movie is something of a reunion event. What do I mean by that? Well, at one time, Addison and Schaeffer were the minds behind an unmade comedy called THE SHOWER – a film in which Anne Hathaway was meant to lead a scenario where a baby shower gets upstaged by a massive meteor shower.

As of the moment there are no release date or further casting details for NASTY WOMEN. However, if you feel the need for some Rebel Wilson in your life be sure to check out HOW TO BE SINGLE. Or, if Anee Hathaway is your jam you can watch ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. Both films are available on Digital, Blu-Ray and DVD formats right now.
