Velvet Buzzsaw poster proves all art is dangerous

One of the top movies that I'm looking forward to checking out ASAP is NIGHTCRAWLER writer-director Tony Gilroy's Netflix art-horror movie VELVET BUZZSAW starring Jake Gyllenhaal. The flick looks to be a wild time at the movies and I'm too f*cking excited about HOW "horror" it looks, if you know what I mean. Recently we passed along word that the MPAA has slapped the movie with an R-rating for "violence, language, some sexuality/nudity, and brief drug use", and today we have the movie's poster for you to check out.

It's simple. As hell. But maybe that's the point. All the same, it boasts a killer tagline reading "All Art is Dangerous." Nice. I dig it. How about you? Check out the poster (along with the trailer) below and then let us know what you think! Meanwhile, this is the movie's official synopsis:

After paintings by an unknown artist are discovered, a supernatural force enacts revenge on those who have allowed their greed to get in the way of art.

VELVET BUZZSAW is written and directed by Dan Gilroy and produced by Jennifer Fox, Betsy Danbury, Donald Sparks, and David Feinsilber. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo, Toni Collette, Zawe Ashton, Tom Sturridge, Natalia Dyer, Daveed Diggs, Billy Magnussen, and John Malkovich. It features music by Marco Beltrami (SCREAM). It premieres at Sundance on January 27 and hits Netflix (and limited theaters) on February 1, 2019
