Verhoeven’s Surrogate

JoBloJoBlo

Paul Verhoeven is coming back to the States to direct THE SURROGATE for 20th Century Fox. His last project was the very well-recieved and multiple award-winning BLACK BOOK. The film will be based on the 2004 book by Kathryn Mackel, about a couple desperate to have a child and employ the services of a surrogate who turns out to be insane.

There’s no word on casting yet, but I think I great call would be Katherine Heigl. Seeing her tormented by a crazy person who was carrying her child would be awesome. The only downside would be that it was just a movie. So I don’t know, maybe scrap the film and hire a chick from a trailer-park to do this in real life with the funding? I don’t know, I’m open to suggestions at this point, but I definitely like that we moved from a Verhoeven movie to torturing Heigl so quickly. We should definitely run with this. Don’t want to lose this energy.
