Village acquires Lobo

Variety announced today that production company Stone Village has acquired the spec script LOBO from writers Dikran Ornekian and Ryan Colluci. It’s been described as an “action thriller,” but as it’s about a “colony of werewolves” I’d say it’s right up our alley!

Off the bat, LOBO goes a little something like this: a man receives a photo and letters from his mother’s will, then heads to an isolated town in the Amazon to discover his roots. There, he discovers a near-extinct species of werewolves and his true identity, and he helps the werewolves wage a battle for survival.

Generally speaking, werewolf movies don’t work, as over the last twenty some odd years, there have been only a handful of successful werewolf movies and a gabillion crappy ones. But werewolves in the Amazon? This small twist on the normal werewolf film we’ve seen could propell this from bleak to awesome in a blink of an eye!

To be directed by Ezna Sands, director of the successful short film CRAVEN MARSH, this was pitched as the first of a trilogy of movies, as once this dude figures out that his roots are based in werewolves then the real fun begins.

Stick around for the casting announcements of LOBO as they break!
