While scores of Fast fans are busy crossing their fingers for the final installment of the Fast Saga to send Dominic Toretto and his family into outer space, Vin Diesel has recently teased that Fast 10 could be split into two parts.

Diesel said as much while speaking with the fine folks over at Total Film:

“I started planning for Fast 10 before we started filming Fast 9. Very much so,” Diesel recently told the entertainment outlet. “The universe is so robust and so rich with talent and rich with story that, on one level, it’s totally feasible to have spinoffs, and I think that’s something that is inevitable. Universal deserves it because of how much they’ve invested in this little saga, and it’d be good to give back to Universal. And for the fans, should Fast 10 parts one and two be the conclusion, it would be nice for this world to continue for generations to come.”

Of course, the Fast & Furious franchise already has a spin-off by way of THE FAST & FURIOUS PRESENTS: HOBBS & SHAW, starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. I suppose the reason that Diesel failed to acknowledge the aforementioned film is because its production was something of a sore spot for members of the Fast family who failed to be invited to the action-packed party.

For the moment, Fast fans all across the globe are busy revving their engines for the arrival of FAST & FURIOUS 9 (or F9: THE FAST SAGA, if you really want to get under the hood of the franchise's bizarre naming conventions). Directed by Justin Lin, FAST & FURIOUS 9 stars Vin DieselMichelle Rodriguez, John CenaNathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren as Magdalene Shaw. In the film, Cypher (Theron) enlists the help of Jakob (Cena), Dom's younger brother to take revenge on Dom and his team. A pulse-pounding trailer for F9 dropped last week during a live concert event, though you can check it out for yourself by watching the above-posted video.

What do you think about the possibility of Fast 10 being split into two parts? Are you down for more Fast spin-offs after the primary series comes to an end? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
