Vince Vaughn is back with another high-concept comedy, but this time he’s got some good back-up to tell the story, notably with the lovely Cobie Smulders and talented Chris Pratt. DELIVERY MAN tells the tale of a man who anonymously donated sperm almost two decades ago, only to find out that it was used to create 533 new lives, all of whom want to know who daddy is. Man, that’s a lot of Christmas gifts.

Here’s the synopsis:

From DreamWorks Pictures comes “Delivery Man,” the story of affable underachiever David Wozniak, whose mundane life is turned upside down when he finds out that he fathered 533 children through sperm donations he made twenty years earlier. In debt to the mob, rejected by his pregnant girlfriend, things couldn’t look worse for David when he is hit with a lawsuit from 142 of the 533 twenty-somethings who want to know the identity of the donor. As David struggles to decide whether or not he should reveal his true identity, he embarks on a journey that leads him to discover not only his true self but the father he could become as well.

I have to say, out of all the films Vaughn has released in the last few years (and let’s be honest, it’s been A LOT), this looks to be the most appealing of the bunch. It’s been a while since I’ve said that, but this could be a winner. In truth, Vaughn has “delivered” many good comedies, so it’s not like he’s a flash in the pan, but it would be good to see him with a hit on his hands.

DELIVERY MAN starts the donations on November 22, 2013.

Cobie Smulders can put me in handcuffs any day…
