
Say what you want about Danish director Lars Von Trier’s movies (I’d say more that a few of them are pretentious nonsense), he’s a fascinating example of a director who plays by his own rules. No stranger to polarizing audiences (and even his own actors), the idea of him doing a horror movie about Satan definitely raises one’s eyebrows.
It’s unfortunate that his crippling depression might get in the way of this project. CBC Arts has an incisive interview with the controversial director in which he discusses his illness and its disastrous effect on his career.
ANTICHRIST, the movie he says he assumes will be his next film, would depict Satan, not God, as the world’s creator.
