If you find time for one indie movie this summer amid all the DARK KNIGHTs and IRON MANs, do yourself a favor and make it THE WACKNESS. While it’s true the marketing campaign hasn’t done much to sell the film yet, I’ll tell you the film will make it worth your while. Today IGN has an exclusive red-band trailer for the film, which isn’t exactly like the red-band HAPPENING trailer. No dudes getting run over by lawn mowers here. But it is probably the best trailer we’ve seen so far because it doesn’t have to shy away from the weed angle of the film (which is a pretty big angle). THE WACKNESS has the unfortunate luck of coming out July 3rd, up against the Fourth of July juggernaut known as Will Smith (HANCOCK). I don’t want to overhype something, but if you check it out, I’m sure it’ll be worth your while.
