Watch Tom Hiddleston sing Hank Williams in preparation for I Saw the Light

Tom Hiddleston looks to be readying his voice and onstage presence for his upcoming role as Hank Williams in the biopic I SAW THE LIGHT. The actor took to the stage this weekend at the Wheatland Music Festival in Michigan and surprised the crowd with his own rendition of "Move It On Over". You can hear and see him in the fan-shot video below; as you might expect it’s not the best quality, but hearing who I imagine is a dad explain to his child that it’s Loki on stage is pretty classic. Hiddleston reportedly also sang "I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry" with country star Rodney Crowell on guitar; now that I'd like to see!

Hiddleston is spending time with Cromwell, who is also serving as music director for the film, in preparation for the role which would bring Williams' successful but tortured life to the big screen. It will follow his musical career and personal life, including his battles with drugs, alcohol, and a spinal disorder. Williams died at age 29 of apparent heart failure on New Year’s Day in 1953. Marc Abraham (FLASH OF GENIUS) will serve as director, screenwriter and producer.

I SAW THE LIGHT will begin filming in Louisiana next month. Check out his performance below along with William’ version and tell us what you think!
