My friend Dimos has been hawking WATCHMEN to me for years. He tells me the graphic novel is a must, that it’s a masterpiece. And I believe him, and want to read it, but I’ve been putting it off, probably because of my drinking problem and Facebook addiction (old, tired jokes I know, but true). Anyway, now that the movie is approaching, I’m torn about whether I should make it a point to read the literature before seeing the film, or to go into the movie fresh, and then enrich the experience afterward with the more in-depth novel. Is there anyone else there in my boat? And for those who have read it, what do you think? It really is a tough call, but I’m leaning towards reading the graphic novel first, if I can just get myself to read something that isn’t on a screen. Anyway, to celebrate this little quandary of mine, here’s a photo of the Nite Owl action figure, courtesy of EW.com. Click HERE to see Rorschach and to read a little about these suckers.
