We Talk Valerian with Luc Besson, Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan!

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS may be a long title, but it certainly is a fast and fun ride. The latest from Luc Besson is a breathtaking work of art that delights with incredible world-building as well as it's two stars, Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan. It also offers up engaging performances from Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke and John Goodman. And while it’s a small role, you can’t take your eyes off of Rihanna. This is a wild and beautiful world that I was happy to disappear into.

Recently at the junket for the film, we spoke with both DeHaan and Delevingne who talked about playing Valerian and Laureline – partners who have an sweet little romance brewing. They discussed working with director Luc Besson and just how easy he made it for them considering most of the film is CGI. Thankfully, it all works, and it is a joy watching the two actors together. It was clear that both actors loved being a part of this project – and who wouldn’t?

As for Mr. Besson, the iconic filmmaker has put his heart and soul into this gorgeous flick. During our interview, he discussed the many artists that contributed to the film, and the process of putting it all together. He also opened up about going the route he did for the 3D, which is pretty stupendous at times. VALERIAN is blast from beginning to end, and this Friday you’ll all have your chance to visit a new and exciting cinematic world.
