Weaver talks GB3 again

Just the other day, Sigourney Weaver dropped an atom bomb upon the internet with her “Bill Murray might be a ghost” comment to a British journalist when asked about GHOSTBUSTERS 3. MTV caught up with the AVATAR actress and gave her a chance to clarify her comments. While she didn’t exactly confirm anything (which you wouldn’t expect her to), she still teased the possibility of a deceased – but still active – Peter Venkman.

“He could come back as a sort of Slimer character,” Weaver tells MTV. I’m assuming she doesn’t mean he’d be covered in green ectoplasm, but rather be a ghostly compatriot to the ‘Busters in part 3.

“I haven’t read the script,” she said. “They’re sending me the script. I guess my little son Oscar who was kidnapped is a Ghostbuster, which makes me very proud. So [director] Ivan Reitman called me the other day and said he would love me to take a look at it. In a few weeks I’ll actually know what it is, though I probably won’t be able to talk about it.”

So either this is a calculated display of misdirection on Weaver’s part, or she really does believe that Murray will be a dead man in GB3. I’m leaning toward the latter, as Ripley would never mislead us!
