Wednesday season 3 kicked off production in February, and Netflix has dropped a first look at the new season, which features Jenna Ortega in Paris, with Thing along for the ride.
Along with Ortega, the new season features the return of Hunter Doohan, Fred Armisen, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Victor Dorobantu, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Joanna Lumley.
New additions include Eva Green as Aunt Ophelia, along with Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Lena Headey, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, Kennedy Moyer, Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance.
Ortega has expressed her desire to see Wednesday and Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) team up more. “I would like them [Morticia and Wednesday] to stop arguing and team up. We’d just been talking about women banding together, and you see that a bit in the final episode, or episodes. I think we should lean into that,” she said. “It’s really exciting and refreshing to see women displayed that way. I think it’s important to see Wednesday deal with the darker side of herself a little bit, too – but also never taking things too seriously. And I would like to see more death attempts between her and Pugsley. She doesn’t try to kill him enough! I want to see stuff like that.“
Plot details are being kept under wraps, and while the new season doesn’t have an official release date, it’s expected to return in 2027.
There has also been talk of an Uncle Fester spin-off series starring Fred Armisen, with the actor confirming last year that the project was still in development. “Yeah, we’re working on it,” he said. “It’s fantastic… It’s amazing.“
