Wes Anderson’s new movie is currently shooting in Spain and THR has reported that the latest addition to the ensemble cast is none other than Black Widow herself, Scarlett Johansson.

Plot details for Wes Anderson’s new movie are being kept under wraps, and as with every other casting news to emerge from the project, the nature of Scarlett Johansson’s character is also being kept a mystery. The film will also feature the talents of Adrien Brody, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Margot Robbie, Rupert Friend, and Tom Hanks. THR has previously indicated that “the cast for this one is larger than most other Anderson films that are ensemble in nature.” Johansson has worked with Wes Anderson once before in the stop-motion animated Isle of Dogs, but this will be her first in-person appearance in a Wes Anderson film.

Before we get to see this film, we do have another Wes Anderson movie on the slate with The French Dispatch, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last month and will be released in theaters on October 22, 2021. The film has been described as “a love letter to journalists set at an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional 20th-century French city.” The ensemble cast of The French Dispatchincludes Benicio del Toro, Timothee Chalamet, Elisabeth Moss, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Jeffrey Wright, Frances McDormand, Adrian Brody, Owen Wilson, and more. Scarlett Johansson recently appeared in Black Widow, which is currently playing in theaters and has already been released on Digital. It will soon be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 14th.
