What Lies Below trailer: Mena Suvari stars in creature feature coming to VOD

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

A trailer has arrived online for writer/director Braden R. Duemmler's creature feature WHAT LIES BELOW, which Vertical Entertainment will be giving a VOD and Digital release on December 4th. The trailer is embedded above, and goes in directions I was not expecting.

Starring Ema Horvath, Trey Tucker, and Mena Suvari, the film has the following synopsis:

Liberty, a socially awkward 16-year-old, returns from two months at camp to a blindsided introduction of her mother’s fiancé, John Smith, whose charm, intelligence and beauty paint the picture of a man too perfect to be human.

I hadn't read the synopsis or looked at the poster (you can see that below) before I watched the trailer, so I was thinking this would be something along the lines of THE STEPFATHER. As it turns out, it's going to be much weirder than that. I'm totally on board to check out this "My Mom's Dating a Monster" movie next month.
