I’m hardly the “cinema intelligentsia” that director Peter Berg refers to as the vocal critic of his upcoming movie BATTLESHIP. I enjoy stupid movies sometimes. Heck, I was the guy who liked COWBOYS & ALIENS. But I hardly think that the cinema intellegentsia are the only people who are going to have a problem with BATTLESHIP.
The trailer for the mega-expensive board game adaptation is here and with movies like this coming out, I wonder why Michael Bay even feels compelled to return for a fourth TRANSFORMERS film. His partners at Hasbro seem to be doing just fine without him (even down to the sound effects). This would all be well and good if the BATTLESHIP teamed seem capable of capturing some of the glee of the original TRANSFORMERS film, none of which seems evident here.
