A lot of our younger readers might only know her as that crazy lady from The View but in the late 80’s and early 90’s Whoopi Goldberg was huge. She’s one of the few people that have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony and at one point was rumored to be the highest paid actress working in Hollywood.
A couple of days ago Goldberg was seen leaving the set of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES wearing a giant wig and a jumpsuit (the above image) and it wasn’t clear what her role in the film would be. Now CBM has learned that the actress will be playing Bernadette Thompson, April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and Vernon Fenwick’s (Will Arnett) boss.
If you’re a fan of the animated series the name might sound familiar: in the cartoon O’Neil’s boss was a man named Burne Thompson. Obviously they’ve changed the gender for the movie but the character will probably still be referred to as Burne (or Bern) since it can be short for Bernadette.
Even though Michael Bay is only producing TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES a lot of people are leery of the film because of the director’s involvement with the project. It concerns me too but I’m not going to write off the film just because Michael Bay is attached to it. Maybe I should but I won’t.
Also starring Peter Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, Danny Woodburn and the always awesome William Fichtner, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES will be released on June 6th, 2014.
