Why do I love movies? Well, that is a loaded question. How much time do you have? I could go into a long-winded diatribe about the art of film-making or the magic of the movies, but all of that has been said countless times before. Not every movie is a masterpiece, but every film has touched me in one way or another. Every other week, we will look at a handful of reasons why movies are so damn great..

CHAPTER 1

I love movies…Because of every line in HAPPY GILMORE

Because of The Tinker's creepy ass speech in WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.

Because Wolfman's got nards.

Because of James Caan being seranaded by Will Ferrell in ELF

Because of Dick Van Dyke's lullaby in CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG.

Because Sloth loves Chunk.

Because of Bette Davis on the beach at the end of WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE?

Because of the way Faye Dunaway looks in this scene from BONNIE & CLYDE.

Because of Keanu Reeves shooting at the sky in POINT BREAK

Because of the closing dance number in SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

Because of the way Indiana Jones says this line in TEMPLE OF DOOM.

Because of Gollum falling into Mount Doom in RETURN OF THE KING

Because of the makeover scene in DUMB AND DUMBER

Because of Al Pacino's speech in ANY GIVEN SUNDAY

Because of Thomas Jane's final moments in THE MIST

Because of Tom Cruise's performance in COLLATERAL

Because of Brandon Lee telling a joke in THE CROW

Because of Clive Owen's carrots in SHOOT 'EM UP

Because of the way Orson Welles filmed the crane shot in TOUCH OF EVIL

Because of Gene Wilder's tantrum in THE PRODUCERS

This will be an ongoing column so tune in every two weeks for more Why I Love Movies! In the meantime, we WANT TO HEAR YOUR OWN REASONS below!!
