In the middle of another of MTV’s patented entertainment news mash-ups, they mention an interesting tidbit about the soundtrack for P.T. Anderson’s upcoming drama THERE WILL BE BLOOD. Says them, “Now that Radiohead have thrown together their new album, guitarist Jonny Greenwood is taking on another project: writing the score for “Boogie Nights” and “Magnolia” director Paul Thomas Anderson’s next flick, “There Will Be Blood.” Which makes sense considering Anderson’s sensibilities. Based on the Upton Sinclair novel “Oil!”, the film stars Daniel Day Lewis as a prospector who attempts to swindle a small town out of their rather plentiful supply of oil. Or something to that effect. The film’s certain to be layered with all kinds of subtext such that the plot is merely a springboard for something hopefully greater. The film’s set for release December 26th.
