Buddies Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly have found a new project to collaborate on following their great comedic partnerships in TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY and STEP BROTHERS. Thew new film is titled DEVIL’S NIGHT and will take the guys on a more action-oriented route.

DEVIL’S KNIGHT comes from writers Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul and will be produced by Will Ferrell‘s production company Gary Sanchez, alongside longtime collaborator Adam McKay. It remains unknown whether or not McKay will direct the duo as he has for their two prior films or simply serve as producer. What we do know is the plot of DEVIL’S NIGHT.

DEVIL’S NIGHT is set on October 30, when the real mischief and debauchery goes down. The unofficial holiday made Leonard and Gabe best friends as children, though it would eventually be responsible for tearing them apart. 15 years later, with Devil’s Night growing out of control, they must put their differences aside and reunite to save their neighborhood from utter destruction.

I think there are few actors who play as well together as Reilly and Ferrell. TALLADEGA NIGHTS was funnier than it should have been and STEP BROTHERS is just ridiculous. DEVIL’S NIGHT sounds like it could be the equivalent of THE WORLD’S END if handled properly. McKay has ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES releasing this Christmas so he could easily have this movie ready for next year. Stay tuned.
