While a teaser trailer of sorts for Stephenie Meyer’s THE HOST dropped back in March, today’s footage is the first full (albeit somewhat low-quality) glimpse we’ve had at the movie.
And the verdict?
Saoirse Ronan is pretty. She has some alien-bestowed powers, one of which is Wolverine-style regeneration. I think there’s a love triangle going on, but I kept getting distracted by how this seems more like the poor man’s INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS than anything else. Still, just because it’s not my cup of tea doesn’t mean you can’t have a ball with what’s going on here.
