If William Macy has been taking it easy on the silver screen these past few years, that's only because he's devoted himself entirely to playing Frank Gallagher on Showtime's Shameless. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure, Shameless revolves around an alcoholic (Macy) who lives in a perpetual stupor while his six children (including the lovely Emmy Rossum) cope as best they can. Season 5 starts up early next year and a trailer has dropped just to show you how little Frank Gallagher as chaged.

While I started watching for Macy's performance (he always delivers solid work), I stayed for the rest of the ensemble. There is not a weak link in the cast, from Emmy Rossum to Jeremy Allen White to Steve Howey. The show features one of my favorite ensembles in a current TV show and once you settle into the shamelessness of it all, it's also one of the most entertaining. Looks like Season 5 will deliver more of what makes this show great!
Shameless: Season 5 will start on January 11 at 9pm on Showtime.
