Walt Disney Animation‘s Wish is making dreams come true for the House of Mouse after the animated feature’s recent trailer spread like wildfire online. With more than 66.5 million views across online platforms, Disney’s Wish trailer is the most-viewed preview for one of the studio’s animated films since 2019’s Frozen II. Discussions around the film praise the project’s original story, uplifting music, peculiar characters, the sinister villain, and a dazzling kingdom populated with charming locals.

Inspired by the fanciful act of wishing on stars, Wish introduces Asha (Ariana DeBose), a sharp-witted idealist who makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star set out to prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.

Joining DeBose as primary cast members are Evan Peters as the voice of Simon, Chris Pine as King Magnifico, Harvey Guillén as Gabo, Angelique Cabral as Queen Amaya, and Victor Garber as Sabino.

“As the most powerful person in the kingdom, King Magnifico needed to be played by someone who could give all the charm, cleverness and charisma to this magnanimous character, and Chris is beautifully bringing all of that and then some,” said Jennifer LeeWish executive producer and one of the writers for the film.

Also featuring the voice of Alan Tudyk as Asha’s favorite goat, Valentino, the film is helmed by Oscar-winning director Chris Buck (FrozenFrozen 2) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (Raya and the Last Dragon), produced by Peter Del Vecho (FrozenFrozen 2) and co-produced by Juan Pablo Reyes (Encanto). Jennifer Lee (FrozenFrozen 2) executive produces—Lee and Allison Moore (Night SkyManhunt) are writers on the project. With original songs by Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/musician Benjamin Rice, plus a score by composer Dave Metzger, Wish opens only in theatres on November 22, 2023.

Wish will likely dominate the box office when Americans celebrate Thanksgiving late next month.
