Witness the beauty of stop-motion with this Anomalisa featurette

Michael Stone, husband, father and respected author of "How May I Help You Help Them?" is a man crippled by the mundanity of his life. On a business trip to Cincinnati, where he's scheduled to speak at a convention of customer service professionals, he checks into the Fregoli Hotel. There, he is amazed to discover a possible escape from his desperation in the form of an unassuming Akron baked goods sales rep, Lisa, who may or may not be the love of his life. Check out some of the fascinating behind-the-scenes action on Charlie Kaufman's first animated film, ANOMALISA.

Charlie Kaufman (SYNECDOCHE, NEW YORK, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND) has written some amazing films and having him jump back into the director's chair, especially for a stop-motion project, has me all kinds of excited. This certainly doesn't help to temper expectations, but our own Jimmy O gave this flick a perfect 10/10 at this year's AFI Festival (you can read up on it here). There's something seemingly human about the performances within this movie, and I can't wait to experience it come next year.

ANOMALISA will open in select theaters in January of 2016.
