Broderick plays failed children’s folk artist, Ben Singer. He’s an overly negative guy, hell bent on the fact that the world has nothing to offer. Ben’s not the best Dad in the world either. Not only is he a compulsive marijuana smoker but he is a constant let down. When his diabetic friend, Ibu goes into a coma, Ben provides a place for his sister, Khadi to stay. Khadi becomes more than an interesting roommate for pessimistic Ben, she becomes an inspiration.
