Woody Allen’s next film adds Andrew Dice Clay, Louis CK, and Michael Emerson

JoBloJoBlo

Every time a new Woody Allen project adds new actors, it makes you think that it will be the greatest comedy of all time. But, always look back at how WHATEVER WORKS, ANYTHING ELSE, and MELINDA OR MELINDA turned out.

With that said, I am cautiously optimistic at Allen’s next film which will begin shooting in San Francisco this year. The cast for the untitled comedy already features Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Bobby Cannavale, Sally Hawkins, and Peter Sarsgaard. Now joining that cast are comedians Louis CK and Andrew Dice Clay as well as the one and only Ben Linus, Mr. Michael Emerson.

I finally got a chance to see MIDNIGHT IN PARIS recently and thought it was a bit overrated from the buzz I heard about it. Despite that, I still thought it was a well written movie. It will remain to be seen if Michael Emerson plays a quirky character or something against the type he has become known for. Louis CK, however, seems to be better when he plays himself so lets hope Woody writes this with his strengths in mind.

Woody’s latest, TO ROME WITH LOVE, opens June 22nd in limited release.
