Damn, Scott Cooper’s OUT OF THE FURNACE gets hotter by the day!

Just last week we heard the great Sam Shepard had joined Christian Bale, Casey Affleck and Zoe Saldana in OUT OF THE FURNACE, a gritty crime-thriller drawing comparisons to NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. Get ready to hear more comparisons, as an actual star from NO COUNTRY may end up in the film when all is said and done.

Variety has it that Woody Harrelson is in serious talks to star in OUT OF THE FURNACE…as Curtis DeGroat, the ringleader who Bale’s character winds up seeking vengeance against.

This may clear things up:

OUT OF THE FURNACE is a dark drama set in 1986 Indiana. Bale will play protagonist Slim, a man released after serving years in prison for murder who wants only to follow through on his promise to marry his long-suffering girlfriend. But when he discovers his brother has been murdered after getting involved in a gambling racket, his goals change and he avenges the murder.

So Woody as the heavy? Fuck yeah! Dude’s been on a comeback tear as of late, recently garnering all kinds of praise for RAMPART, then turning around and doing something as wildly different as THE HUNGER GAMES. Love that shite!

Zoe got yard!
