World War Z star Sterling Jerins to go to Dark Places with Charlize Theron

Back in February we shared the news that mega-hottie Charlize Theron has signed on to both star and produce the thriller DARK PLACES, replacing the departing Amy Adams in the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel of the same name, to be written and directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner. We followed up that story with one in April when the always fantastic Chloe Grace Moretz joined the cast, and today we have another bit of casting news regarding the film.

Variety is reporting that THE CONJURING and WORLD WAR Z actress Sterling Jerins has signed on for the Mandalay thriller. The young Jerins portrayed Brad Pitt's daughter in WORLD WAR Z and played Judy Warren in the summer hit THE CONJURING, so she is no stranger to darker material.

The film, based on Gillian Flynn’s novel,…

“centers on a woman who survived the massacre of her family as a young girl and testified against her brother as the murderer. She’s confronted 25 years later by a secret society obsessed with solving notorious crimes.”

Jerins will play the young girl while Theron portrays her elder self. Corey Stoll and Nicholas Hoult also star.

We'll keep you posted on news regarding DARK PLACES as we hear it.
