X-Men: Days of Future Past to see an extended cut with more Rogue scenes

It was reported early on that the bulk of Rogue’s scenes got the axe when it came to the final cut of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. We all figured that we would just see them via deleted scenes on the eventual Blu-ray/DVD release, but it looks like the folks at Twentieth Century Fox might have something a little cooler planned for X-Fans. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner was goodly enough to confirm as much in a twitter response.

I’m actually surprised that the “extended cut” hasn’t been taken advantage of sooner when it comes to the X-Men, and I mean that in a Lord of the Rings kinda way. Everyone has their favorite characters, and with so many to go around, I’m sure very few would oppose it. If theatrical cuts of THE HOBBIT or TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION can tip-toe near the 3-hour mark, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST can certainly handle an extended version that probably wouldn’t come close to that. Granted, I’m sure a DAYS OF FUTURE PAST extended cut wont be on a “Lord of the Rings scale”, but I’m curious as to what other scenes could be added back into the mix. Either way, X-Men proved to be one of the most fun flicks of the year, so I’m all for more of it.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is in theaters now, although we can expect the Blu-ray/DVD later this year.
