X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST having an post-credits scene shouldn’t be a spoiler. After all, it is the norm for a comic book movie, and the sequel has already been announced. I certainly won’t reveal the sequence here, but X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST scribe Simon Kinberg recently explained the after credits scene in an interview with IGN. Obviously this is a major spoiler, so if you haven’t seen the new movie yet do not, I repeat, DO NOT scroll past the spoiler buffer. You’ve been warned.

Simon Kinberg says the character teased in the post-credits scene is the super villain Apocalypse, but also says it’s a younger version of the character, and a different actor will play him for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE.
The post-credit sequence is a tease into what will be the Apocalypse movie. Now the Apocalypse you see – that young boy – may not be the actor who plays the character in our movie. It’s a deep back story glimpse into the character, but our movie doesn’t take place in ancient Egypt and will likely not star a young boy Apocalypse.
The flashback scene also teased Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen, and I really hope his super villain team will play a big part in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST has a lot of people very excited for future X-MEN flicks (check out JimmyO and Chris Bumbray’s reviews), and I for one can’t wait to see what they’ll do with Apocalypse.
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST opens today, and X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is scheduled to be released on May 27, 2016.
