Z-land sequel talks?

With the recent spate of horror flicks being subjected to box-office butchery, it was damn refreshing to see Ruben Fleischer’s ZOMBIELAND infest the top spot this past weekend (reeling in a cool $25 million).

And these days when a flick does well, it does MORE!

Well, such may be the case, not only for Sony to capitalize on a viable product, but because the events that transpire in ZOMBIELAND may legitimately warrant one.

According to co-screenwriter Paul Wernick’s thoughts on a sequel (via MTV.com), he says “We would love it, and everyone involved creatively wants to do another one.” At the further prospect of revisiting the land of zombies, Wernick posits: “Woody came up to us after the final cut of the last scene and gave us a hug and said, ‘I’ve never wanted to do a sequel in the previous movies I’ve done until this one.’ “

Cool Fuc*in’ beans!

If you didn’t catch the film last weekend, it’s a high concept, blood-soaked thrill-ride about a pair of misfits who find themselves embattled with leagues of the undead. Go see it now!

ZOMBIELAND’s lovely Emma Stone!
