Strike Back below!
by: Mike Sampson Oct. 22, 2009

I'll admit it. I'm a huge sucker for a good Christmas story. One of my very favorite of all times is the classic "Mickey's Christmas Carol." Next month we get a new installment of A CHRISTMAS CAROL from the people at Disney that will prove to be quite different than Mickey's version, but no less awesome.

Up until this point, we have seen much of the other characters in the film other than the elderly Scrooge and Jacob Marley but today we've got six exclusive new stills from the film that show off quite a bit more! We get to see a younger Scrooge, Tiny Tim and Bob Crachit (Gary Oldman) and Scrooge's former love Belle (Robin Wright Penn).

I can't wait to see this flick myself and look forward to it becoming a yearly staple at Christmas time right alongside the rest of my favorites! Click on the pics below to enlarge!

If this isn't nearly enough CHRISTMAS CAROL for you, Latino Review has a bunch of brand new pics up as well for your viewing pleasure! Tell em JoBlo sent ya...

Everything's still looking stiff and dead-eyed as ever. Also, can't anyone fix the fucking issue with closed hands? Close your hand. Now tell me if there is an open space between all of your fingers. No? There isn't? Are you sure? Good, that means you're normal. But every CG character in the history of infinity always seems to have massive yawning gaps between each finger when they form a close...

yuk...
I know they want to advance this technology, but these features are butt ugly. Polar and Beowulf, sure you see the improvement, but ultimately they both look bad. Just make short films until you get it right... please stop.

The Muppets Christmas Carol was a favorite around my house for the holidays. Michael Caine as scrooge + muppets is a hard combination to meet, and I just can't manage to get excited about this version.

I didn't like the trailer for this movie. I have a feeling I won't like this one even though like skippy said, I want to like it.

Hmmm
I *want* to like this, if only because I'm sure a lot of talented people put a lot of work into it. The trailer struck me as shrill and a bit silly, and not that impressive technically - granted it's a trailer and I am not watching the scenes in context, or on the big screen, etc.

While I don't believe you have to be slavishly reverential to the original (classic) story, the sort of vibe I have been getting up tile now is not really working for me. Hope I am wrong.

It looks flashy but....
I'm still on the fence about it. I love Zemeckis' "Beowulf" but Jim Carrey as Scrooge and the ghosts doesn't rub me well.
