Looks like Marvel got a little jealous with all the attention DC is hogging by releasing THE DARK KNIGHT tidbits like they're white doves, because today we get our first teaser pic of the new Hulk, in next summer's THE INCREDIBLE HULK. This is not an official online release from the studio. Instead, Universal unveiled the poster at the New York City Licensing show and Wizard posted it online. As far as I can tell, the Hulk's body shape is very similar to the previous film, although this time he appears to be all black and completely featurless, which to me came as a geniuine shock. Oh no wait, that's a silhouette. Rrrright. Looks cool so far. Director Louis Leterrier is said to be creating this Hulk out of a melange of makeup, animatronics, and CGI, whereas the first Hulk was primarily the latter. As we all know, the film stars Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, along with Liv Tyler, William Hurt, and Tim Roth, as Abomination. And as you can tell from the picture, it will be released June 13 of next year.
Extra Tidbit:
Billy Crudup was Ang Lee's first choice to play Bruce Banner in the first HULK.

Well, at least for me, I never said this poster/pic thing was exciting. I find it rather boring and seems too much like the other hulk stuff. Careful how you read things.
I was simply saying that the film intrigues me with its casting decisions. But the poster blows. |

You guys must work for the company or something, because as far as I'm concerned this is shite, and you'd have to be a fanboy or crazy to think otherwise.
I'll agree with you FeedMe..., that the emerging details continue to make this film sound exciting and interesting.
However, if this is actually intended to be something that excites fans, they have failed entirely. It is quite possibly the most bland advertisement I've ever seen. Although I don't see any reason this reflects negatively on the film's potential quality, it certainly does them a disservice by having a truly crappy piece of art out there with their name on it.
I mean, for one, the shape of the hulk, while similar to the first film, is nothing to be excited about, as one of you pointed out. Second, the background is completely anonymous and might as well be white --"oh wait, theres a one way sign, thats so cool! Nevermind!!"...uhhhh, just dumb.
And finally, the title and font/logo for the hulk: This is possibly the worst facet of the poster, and most important part. It is almost precisely the old logo, and the logo used in the comics, etc.... In other words, absolutely NOTHING new or exciting--
Whereas if you look at Batman, and his logo, that has changed so many times over the years that it is nearly unrecognizable. And what's more important, its not some stagnant, dated notion of what's cool-- People want their favorites reinvented and reinterpretted, not simply refilmed with newer effects. If this isn't obvious enough, see superman returns.
I remain excited at the prospect of this film, but only for the talent involved and the details emerged. I have to agree that this poster is a complete waste, and would only hurt the films hype. |

x1031x, I've been wondering and saying this for a while now. Glad someone else thinks so also. The internet makes for some really whiney bitches. Sad sad world.
This already sounds way better than the first and the casting is twice as good as I'd ever hoped. Normally it isnt necessary for a remake/sequalish thing to follow so closely, but this was needed. I dont even like the hulk that much as a comic character. |

It's ok, but I want to see real official pictures of the HULK. It just looks like they through in Ang Lee's Hulk, shaded him black and added The Incredible Hulk. |

This teaser poster already looks awesome to me. And yeah, this silhouette looks nothing like Ang Lee's stocky, too-gentle Hulk.
Should've known some dumbasses would already be bitching about it. |

AT LEAST IT'S NOT JUST
I fucking hate these teaser campaigns a YEAR before the movie screens. Oh well... This second Hulk has gotta be better than Ang Lee's piece-of-shit effort (I dunno; I liked some of the action in it, though; maybe it seemed exciting next to the dull drama in it).
But anyway: Go Ed Norton! |

It looks exactly like the first one, because that's how he's supposed to look. As x said, he's the HULK. |

You people are insane! You're all poo-pooing a silhouette!!! Is there nothing the faceless masses of the internet, emboldened by their anonymity, won't tear apart anymore?
"He's shaped like the first Hulk" "Someone forgot to push the originality button." For christ's sake people...he's shaped like the Hulk. Would you prefer he wear a cape and a dunce cap?
I quit. The internet is dumb. |
