Check out a new featurette for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past

A new featurette has arrived for director Bryan Singer's X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, which focuses primarily on the filmmaker's desire to return to the franchise after missing out on the last two films. There's some new footage scattered throughout and a lot of behind-the-scenes clips as well with Singer talking about working with both the old cast and the young cast (from X-MEN FIRST CLASS) and how they found a way to merge the two into one film.

Take a look:

Now that CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER has finally hit the big screen, I would argue that X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is the most-anticipated comic-book film of the summer, although the competition of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR isn't too shabby either. However, with X-Men, you have a long-running, established franchise and a great cast assembled (natch), which brings a lot of weight. It'll be interested to see who comes out on top, but I think DOFP has the edge.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST hits theaters on May 23, 2014.

And, here's the X-Men on the cover of EW's Summer Movie preview…
