First trailer for Seven Psychopaths with Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, and Woody Harrelson hits

The first trailer for Martin McDonagh’s SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS, starring Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, and Christopher Walken has arrived and it’s every bit as zany and off-beat as you’d expect.  For anyone who’s seen McDonagh’s brilliantly funny and dark IN BRUGES then you’ll have an idea of what his particular brand brings.  The trailer is probably best served by a red band, but this is a solid warm up to what will hopefully be another weird and cool comedy from the filmmaker.

Get your hands up:

I’m looking forward to this one.  Farrell has been trying to branch out into action roles to improve his appeal, but I think his talents lean heavier on the comedy side (see: IN BRUGES, HORRIBLE BOSSES).  Time to just roll with it.  Rockwell, Harrelson, and Christopher F*cking Walken always bring their A-game and having them all in one whacked-out comedy is pretty great.  Plus, Olga Kurylenko, Tom Waits, Sweet Pea, and Precious.  How do you top that?

Here’s the synopsis:

From Oscar-winning writer and director Martin McDonagh comes a star-studded, blood-drenched, black comedy. Marty (Colin Farrell) is a struggling writer who dreams of finishing his screenplay Seven Psychopaths. All he needs is a little focus and inspiration. Billy (Sam Rockwell) is Marty’s best friend, an unemployed actor and part time dog thief, who wants to help Marty by any means necessary. Hans (Christopher Walken) is Billy’s partner in crime. A religious man with a violent past. Charlie is the psychopathetic gangster whose beloved dog, Billy and Hans have just stolen. Charlie’s unpredictable, extremely violent and wouldn’t think twice about killing anyone or anything associated with the theft. Marty is going to get all the focus and inspiration he needs, just as long as he lives to tell the tale.

SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS unleashes the crazy on October 12, 2012.
