We have a new, extended TV spot for director Brett Ratner’s HERCULES starring the beast that is Dwayne Johnson. If you enjoy the classic myth tale of Hercules, then you’re probably up for the action-packed "revisionist take" about the famous twelve labors. I’ve never found it to be that entertaining, but this movie looks ridiculous enough to check out. The new TV spot is here to remind you of just how entertaining the film has set out to be.
It's clear that this movie solely rests on the shoulders of Johnson; the effects are uninspired and the name Brett Ratner is enough to make most people slowly back out of a room. This could have been another sequel to THE SCORPION KING and I wouldn't have noticed. Saying that though, I have a lot of respect for Johnson and the great cast; I hope HERCULES is a great summer surprise that will no doubt still be more watchable than the loud robots.
The film also stars John Hurt, Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan, Rufus Sewell, Robert Maillet, and Irina Shayk (pictured below). HERCULES opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on July 25th 2014.
That Irina Shayk is one piece of ace.
