Deadpool answers the call (sort of) in Deadpool 2 teaser

03.04.2017

Yesterday the day finally arrived and we could all go and catch Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for the very last time. The movie is receiving rave reviews and is currently on track for an $82 million debut. But one of the aspects of the movie that has just as much buzz around it is the teaser for DEADPOOL 2 that precedes it. Anyone who caught the movie has seen it already (unless you were late…Craig), but just in case you have no idea when you’ll have time to catch LOGAN Ryan Reynolds has gone ahead and posted the trailer online for your viewing pleasure.

Grab some Cherry Garcia and enjoy!

Great, right? It doesn’t reveal, well, anything, but it’s a great way to keep the buzz going for the Merc With a Mouth’s next adventure. One detail that comes to mind is from Reynolds’s description on his YouTube page, which says, “Wade and the other girls from the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants plan a trip to Cabot Cove.” It might seem like gibberish to some, but Cabot Cove is in fact the town where the show MURDER, SHE WROTE takes place, which starred the delightful Angela Lansbury. Is the actor hinting at an upcoming cameo from the actress? It’s pure speculation, and it could just be a random joke, but with this character anything seems possible.

See LOGAN…NOW!

funny but...

there is not surprise factor in this one. We all know the type of humor this movie is oriented... and this is a very complicated thing..

Do they even have the rights to the Superman theme?

I really hope not because the idea that Deadpool gives so little of a Fuck that they will openly and brazenly reference things they have no legal right to (like the Helicarier in the first one) makes the whole thing all the better.

I only have one real complain. Deadpool is the first charecter to actually acknowledge Stan Lee. That's Brilliant! So Brilliant I wish they had saved it for the actual film

DC comics have been referenced in Marvel comics for as long as I've been reading comics. For example: Peter Parker at one point had a Superman poster in his bed room.

This was alright. Funny, but nothing special. The scene has a lot of pacing problems, and felt like it ran into the issue of "Hey, here's that guy who made you laugh...doing stuff!" that a lot of sequels have. Not saying it was bad, and Ryan Reynolds has obviously not lost a beat performance-wise, but this seemed pretty mediocre to me.

It feels like it was something they rushed to put together in the front of Logan, so I won't let it impact my perception of the movie. Still super excited

It has pacing problems?...Dude, you're over-thinking this. This was made just as a joke. Of course to talk about Deadpool 2 coming, but made as a joke.

I get that it's a joke. But jokes can have pacing problems. Maybe a better term would have been "comedic timing".

GREATEST TRAILER EVER!

There was no green band on my viewing so I didn't know it was a trailer and for one second I thought they snuck a cameo in there. I was relieved that is was only a trailer. Did anyone actually read the scrolling text at the end? If not it's worth your time.

Hmmmm

I noticed that on the side of the phone booth it had graffiti that said "Nathan Summers Cumming Soon" which is Cable of course but why were there a ton of posters of Firefly on the wall behind Deadpool when he ran out of the phone booth? Is Nathan Fillion involved somehow? I know that David Harbour and Russell Crowe have been talked about for Cable but it was either a little hint or just a random thing in the clip. Is there anything in these things that are random?

I loved the teaser, but this one seems to be very slightly different than the one I saw before I saw Logan.
In the one I saw it was playing "Wham" or whatever the title of the song is that was played in the first Deadpool when he removed the headphones...And he probably was in it, but I don't remember seeing Stan Lee in the one I saw. That's probably just me forgetting on that part though.

I saw it in IMAX and this definitely was longer, didn't have Deadpool making the phone call while changing or the Stan Lee Cameo.

I asked my cousin a while ago and he also said Stan Lee wasn't in the one we saw. Those were the only 2 changes to this one...He was changing in a phonebooth in the one we saw.

This was a lot of fun to see before 'Logan'. Here's to hoping that Jackman appears in one of the sequels as himself since he won't don the claws anymore.
