Expansion of Parnassus

If you went to the theater over Christmas break and were looking for an alternative after AVATAR or SHERLOCK HOLMES sold out, you might have wondered where that weird Heath Ledger/Johnny Depp/etc. movie was.

Terry Gilliam’s IMAGINARIUM OF DR. PARNASSUS did indeed open on the holiday… but only in four theaters.

On January 8th, the movie gets a considerably larger release, expanding to 500 screens. To see a full listing of theaters and purchase tickets online, head to the official site.

Your last chance to see Heath Ledger on the big screen is “a fantastical morality tale set in the present day about a traveling carnival show where visitors pay to pass through a magical mirror and thus enter a world of their own imagination. a world of unearthly delights, or the hellish terror of their own fears and demons. Whatever they conjure becomes real. But Doctor Parnassus long ago made a foolish bet with Mr. Nick, the devil, which is coming due. He and his ragtag troupe of performers must outsmart Mr. Nick inside the Imaginarium to win the wager once & for all.”
