Movie super-sleuth El Mayimbe over at Latino Review has done some sneaking around, and claims that he’s heard from his sources who the five candidates are for Hal Jordan’s (Ryan Reynold’s) love interest in GREEN LANTERN, Carol Ferris, the daughter of aerospace mogul Carl Ferris, who has had a crush on Hal forever. Err she has, not her father. Here are the five alleged candidates:

1. Eva Green

2. Keri Russell

3. Diane Krueger

4. Blake Lively

5. Jennifer Garner

I’ve got to go with Russell or Garner here. Watching two seasons of "Gossip Girl" hasn’t convinced me Blake Lively is ready for a role like this. Krueger is hot to the point of being distracting, Green looks too stern and I think either Russell or Garner have the kind of understated beauty and acting chops to be good in this role. What do you think?

I like Russell for the part.



Lively I never liked since Accepted.



Garner I like but after seeing Daredevil and Electra she can't do comic movies.



Green freaks me out like a healthy goth Kidman.



Kruger is nice and a possible no. 2 to Russell but I can't see her and Reynolds bouncing off oe another, hell it was tough watching her do it...
I like Russell for the part.

Agreed. Garner can't act. She couldn't even pull off the bit part of a supporting nurse in Pearl Harbor.

the best two candidates are Blake and Diane. I think they're sexy, relatively less famous, and would compliment Reynolds looks nicely.

i second Razgriz21... as Halle Berry took the parts of Storm and Catwoman, I think Garner should just stick to Elektra cuz honestly... look how great that turned out. :-/

I'm sorry as a fan I just cannot get behind any of these women. If I had to choose one it would have to be Jennifer Garner, but under protest. Can't we get someone like Eva Mendes or Jessica Biel.

I've seen things with each of them in it and I just cannot see any of them playing the part. I like them, depending on the part. Eva Green, was okay in Casino Royale, but as a character with the potential for so many things, I cannot see her doing the role justice.

I could see them going with any of the first three ladies on this list, but not Lively or Garner... Lively's not there yet, ability wise and frankly, I think Garner's time has passed... If I had to choose, I'd go with Green or Russell on this one... Krueger would look weird with brown hair...

i think the only person possible who could play Carol Ferris, is Rumor Willis. She has the looks, the aura, and the acting ability to really pull this off and plunge her into the limelight once and for all. I really hope casting is reading this!

As much as I love Garner and Russell, I think that Green would be a great. Reynolds will no doubt not play the character 100% serious. Therefore we need someone like Green to keep the scales balanced. And I am out if Lively gets the role. She brings nothing to the table except her looks.
