Jake Gyllenhaal has signed on to star in UNTITLED MOON PROJECT for director Doug Liman (THE BOURNE IDENTITY). I’m guessing that isn’t the actual title but that would be cool if they just called it that (“Could I have two tickets to UNTITLED MOON PROJECT please?”). The action flick will follow private trips to the moon in a race to colonize that floating sphere of cheese in the sky. The script was originally written by Liman and John Hamburg (MEET THE PARENTS) but the shooting draft will have an extensive rewrite by Mark Bowden (BLACK HAWK DOWN). The project has gotten the official pre-strike fasttrack with the studio hoping to get moving after Gyllenaal wraps filming on BROTHERS with Tobey Maguire and Natalie Portman. Liman is currently in post-production on Fox’s action flick JUMPER, which is scheduled for release this February.
