Ryan Reynolds wants to get in the Safe House with Denzel Washington

Many of Hollywood's dashing younger actors want to be in David Guggenheim's SAFE HOUSE with Denzel Washington.

The list of actors after the co-starring role is pretty long. Shia LaBeouf, Taylor Kitsch, Chris Pine, Sam Worthington, Garrett Hedlund, Zac Efron, Channing Tatum, Chris Hemsworth, and Jake Gyllenhaal all want it, but right now Ryan Reynolds is out in front for the part. Is this a big surprise? Nah. Gyllenhaal is the only other actor I would consider to be competition for Reynolds. This is just a guess on my part though.

The script from Guggenheim is apparently a damn good one. What's it all about? "Set in South America, Safe House follows a young U.S. intelligence agent who must go on the run with a newly arrived prisoner (Denzels potential role) after his titular safe house comes under attack think of a mix between Collateral and Three Days of the Condor." The role that they are vying for is a "young CIA agent who must transport a dangerous criminal to safety after both are attacked at a safe house."

Who would you have co-star with Denzel?

Extra Tidbit: The article also mentions that casting for Mary-Jane in Marc Webb's SPIDER-MAN is going to start soon.

Sounds good. Have always loved Reynolds since his television show and it is awesome to finally see him getting his due. I can totally see him making this role his.

I think I'd prefer Gyllenhaal over Reynolds for this one.

Sounds like 16 Blocks, Assault on Precinct 13 remake, and 3:10 to Yuma rolled in to one. I'll wait for a trailer.

I like how Shia's on the list but isn't even mentioned.. does this mean we don't have to see him anymore?

Reynolds, yeah, he (and maybe Hemsworth) can definitely play opposite Washington. The only reason I'd disregard Pine is they just did a movie. Zac Efron is kinda laughable as a contender, not because he's a bad actor (I honestly cannot speak to that) but because he's so friggin' young.

And I just wanna say, I have seen Channing Tatum really act. But rarely is he given roles that truly capitalize on his talents. Like Kevin Costner, he needs a role that plays to his strengths, not the other

I could handle any of those other actors (I personally think Chris Pine would be pretty cool), but for the love of God, do not let Channing Tatum ruin this potentially good movie.

Im happy to see Ryan getting some really good roles. I've been a fan for awhile, but damn they all kind of just happened at the same time it seems

I don't like Gyllenhaal for this role, I just don't really see him being able to pull it off. I think Reynolds has the acting chops to go toe-to-toe with Denzel and the rest of the list just doesn't convince me at all. So I would say Reynolds
