Anyone sick of all the dramatic, heart-wrenching scenes from Peter Jackson’s THE LOVELY BONES we’ve seen around these parts? Care to see a suspenseful Stanley Tucci/Michael Imperioli showdown instead? Well, that’s exactly what we have for you below in yet another new clip from the film adaptation of Alice Sebold’s best-seller.
In the story, narrated by a 14 year old girl from heaven after being raped and murdered, Tucci plays the little girl’s next door neighbor and primary suspect of said heinous crime. Imperioli plays the detective assigned to the case.
In the clip below, it’s the first meeting of the two men, and aside from oozing utter sleaze underneath a putrid hairpiece, Tucci’s character proves to be a bit more cunning than he may initially appear. Of course, making that nasty comb-over really work, you’d have to be!
Starring Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Saoirse Ronin, Susan Sarandon, Thomas McCarthy, Jake Abel, and Amanda Michalka – and written by longtime Jackson collaborator Fran Walsh (DEAD ALIVE, THE FRIGHTENERS), THE LOVELY BONES is about five weeks from release (January 15, 2010).

I love me some Sarandon!
