The ’80s were a wondrous heyday for the horror genre, and that’s why so many filmmakers are harking back to those simpler times in modern films. Tim Sullivan (2001 MANAICS) told Fangoria that he is serving as executive producer on an ’80s horror throwback entitled HELLIONS.

Paul Lenart’s Storyteller Pictures is producing in conjunction with Sullivan’s The Clubhouse. Gavin Heffernan (who co-produced and edited Sullivan’s CHILLERAMA segement) will helm the project, which is written by Pascal Trottier. It is scheduled to begin production later this year.

Described as “a cross between HALLOWEEN and JUNO,” the film depicts a night of terror for a 17-year-old girl who must defend herself against an onslaught of hellish creatures on Halloween night.
