Three generations of horror royalty are coming together for a bloody getaway. Rob Zombie’s Halloween stars Scout Taylor-Compton and Danielle Harris are reuniting and bringing A Nightmare on Elm Street icon Heather Langenkamp along with them for Last Chance Motel, a new slasher set at a remote motel in the Nevada desert. Fangoria partnered with The Horror Collective to reveal the first trailer and release date for the film, which was co-directed by Harris and Taylor-Compton, and you can watch the trailer in the embed above.

Taylor-Compton and Harris both star in the movie and co-wrote the screenplay with Brandon Slagle. The cast also includes Shane West, Sierra McCormick, Robert Allen Mukes, and Freddy vs. Jason heroine Monica Keena.

What Is Last Chance Motel About?

Last Chance Motel follows a newlywed couple whose dream wedding turns into a bloody fight for survival after they discover that their secluded venue is run by a murderous family.

The official synopsis reads:

In “Last Chance Motel,” a newlywed couple whose dream wedding spirals into a bloody nightmare when they uncover that their secluded venue-a desolate motel deep in the Nevada desert-is run by a relentless bloodthirsty family with dark secrets. Bobbi Love, the motel’s relentlessly enthusiastic owner, and her sons go to great lengths to make Andi and Casey’s wedding unforgettable. But the body count rises, Andi and Casey must fight to survive a wedding reception no one was meant to escape.

The idea for the horror movie came from Taylor-Compton’s own experience while planning her wedding.

“While planning my own wedding, I visited several venues that were eerie, isolated, and more than a little unsettling,” says Taylor-Compton. “I couldn’t stop imagining what horrors might lurk behind their walls, and that’s where the idea was born.

Taylor-Compton and Harris are producing Last Chance Motel alongside Daemon Hillin, Amy Covell, Tom O’Connell, D.A. and Michelle Sommers, Jeremy Spencer, and Jay and Jen Kaput.

The film’s biggest selling point for horror fans may be its cast. Harris is best known for playing Jamie Lloyd in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, while Taylor-Compton played Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II. Now the two Halloween stars are joining forces behind and in front of the camera. They’re also joined by Langenkamp, who became a horror icon through her role as Nancy Thompson in A Nightmare on Elm Street and a couple of its sequels.

Harris says the movie’s concept immediately caught her attention when Taylor-Compton brought it to her.

“When Scout shared the concept with me, I immediately saw the potential to build something that felt both character-driven and genuinely unsettling,” says Harris. “Brandon Slagle’s screenplay gave us a rich world to play in, and together we focused on making the motel feel just as dangerous and memorable as the people inside it.”
