Richard Linklater’s newest live-action/animation blend, A SCANNER DARKLY, is currently out in limited release with a wider opening set for this weekend. And for many fans the question remains, is this another unwatchable experiment like WAKING LIFE, or has he managed to capture the brilliance that he brought to TAPE, DAZED AND CONFUSED, and yes, even BEFORE SUNRISE.
