Of the entire spate of horror remakes set for a 2010 release, Breck Eisner’s THE CRAZIES is not only one I fail to find offensive, it also happens to look pretty damn proper. And just when I thought I couldn’t be further sold, a kickass trio of fresh posters has just sprang into the ether to prove me wrong yet again. Now I really wanna see this sucker!
Thanks to the good peeps at Apple, we’re now privy to 3 similarly themed one-sheets, where a respective character is brandishing a weapon of choice (a pitchfork, a revolver, a pipe wrench), looking grotesque and dehumanized. For my money, it’s the dude with the wrench above that makes me smile most. Dunno, might have to do with the name Horst. Just a thought.
Set for a Feb. 26th release, THE CRAZIES commences as a toxin begins to turn the residents of Ogden Marsh, Iowa into violent psychopaths, sheriff David Dutton (Olyphant) tries to make sense of the situation while he, his wife (Mitchell), and two other unaffected townspeople band together in a fight for survival.
Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Danielle Panabaker, Joe Anderson, Christie Lynn Smith, Brett Rickaby, Preston Bailey, Larry Cedar, John Aylward and Joe Reegan star. Remake man Scott Kosar (THE AMITYVILLE HORROR, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE) co-writes with Ray Wright (CASE 39, PULSE).
So how crazy are you for THE CRAZIES?
