One of Clive Barker’s more f*cked up stories from ‘The Books of Blood’ was MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, and the fact that it’s now in the works for the big screen has got me excited in all the right ways. I mean, it was bloody, disturbing… and totally doable for a film adaptation (some of Barker’s stuff just wouldn’t come off right on film).
Variety is reporting this morning that MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN has just landed 3 new cast members, and boy are they packing a punch: Vinnie Jones, Brooke Shields and Leslie Bibb have been cast, joining Bradley Cooper. You got that right- f*cking Vinne Jones! And Brooke Shields! Wow, talk about coming out of left field!
Looks like Jones will play a serial killer who stalks the subways looking for victims. Cooper plays a struggling photographer who decides that tracking down and capturing “the subway butcher” on film will improve his fortunes. Shields plays an art gallery owner who befriends the photographer, and Bibb will play his girlfriend.
Nice! Jones as serial killer! I’m so stoked! Couldn’t have asked for a better cast (just check em’ out below- talk about smokin’ hot!), and this just proves that Lionsgate and Lakeshore Entertainment is intent on bringing this puppy to theaters right, and not giving it the ol’ STD heave-ho. Production is set to begin March 18th in Los Angeles- so expect more goodies from MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN to pop up over the next week or so!
