It looks like we’re finally gonna see vampires running amok in Alaska on the big screen, as comic book writer Steve Niles announced that 30 DAYS OF NIGHT has been put on a rush order!
Ghost House decided to not only greenlight, but to rush the project into production based entirely on the recent extremely successful horror flicks, THE GRUDGE and BOOGEYMAN.
For those that don’t know, DAYS tells the story of a northern Alaskan town attacked by a group of vampires during one of their extended night cycles. Sound sweet? The graphic novel for this bad boy is bad ass- and can we get enough of bad ass vampire flicks? Never!
Let’s just hope that the rushing of the movie doesn’t mean the rushing of a half assed script, the rushing of half assed effects, or the rushing of half assed talent, as DAYS has the potential to be the next NEAR DARK. And judging from the graphic novels that the movie will be based on, I think it’s safe to assume this one won’t turn out to be PG-13… if we’re lucky…
