If your like me (currently sitting inside a
hollowed out pumpkin, trying to ignore the smell of dead hooker; which is
wafting up from the cellar even though it’s wrapped quite well!) your probably
pretty excited to see the film adaptation of the Steve Niles graphic novel 30
DAYS OF NIGHT.
That being said, the folks over at
Bloody-Disgusting have reported that
Ghost House Pictures and
FEARnet.com are getting together to bring us all some cool short films featuring
characters from the 30 DAYS world.
The shorts
will be directed by Victor Garcia and penned by Ben Ketai. The series will show
the character of George as he attempts to track the clan of vampires who will
eventually head to Barrow and f**k up the local residents. George’s stories will
take place in New Orleans as he’s hounded by the vamps while he gains said info.
I really dig this concept. I love when films add
compendiums pieces to their features which help illuminate the movie and expand
the already cool universe the film has created. These pieces will be considered
‘stand alone’ features, and not actually taken from David Slade’s film, but my
guess is that they’ll still be pretty bangin’. 30 DAYS OF NIGHT will hit
theatre’s October 19th.
