Extending the reign of action packed terror to the cosmos is the new Syfy series “Caprica”, starring Eric Stoltz, Esai Morales, and Alessandra Torresani (seen below). And now thanks to the peeps over at io9, we have a stable of new posters to amp us all up.

Conceived as prequel spinoff to highly popular geek-outing “Battle Star Galactica”, “Caprica” finds:

Two families, the Graystones and the Adamas, that live together on a peaceful planet known as Caprica, where a startling breakthrough in artificial intelligence brings about unforeseen consequences.

As mentioned above, the series is set 50 years prior to the events of “Battle Star Galactica”, which makes sense given the fact that Ronald D. Moore, the co-creator of this show, did the same for that long lived Syfy series (which entailed producing, writing and directing).

Moore now joins Remi Aubuchon (“24”) as writer/producer, with Jeffrey Reiner (SERPENT’S LAIR, “Trauma”) and Michael Nankin (MIDNIGHT MADNESS) each directing respective episodes.

“Caprica” premieres in January of 2010. Click HERE to clock the show’s official site.
